The intersection of spirituality and community finds vivid expression in the paintings and linoleum prints of Cameron Johnson, whose work will be featured at Bright Black in an upcoming installation and sale.
Johnson approaches his artistic practice with reverence, describing himself as “a student of God’s creation.” This perspective infuses his paintings and prints with a contemplative quality that invites viewers to consider the fundamental connections that bind us together—faith, hope, and the intricate dynamics of family life.
Through his diverse body of work, Johnson explores how these core values shape and sustain communities. His pieces examine the priorities that both society and religion place on family and personal relationships, drawing from his own experience of how faith and family have provided him with foundation, growth, and unwavering support throughout his creative journey.
“My faith and family have given me a strong foundation, provided room to grow, and supported me through my decisions,” Johnson reflects. “Indirectly, that support is what led me to art and continues to encourage my creativity.”
Visitors to Bright Black will have the opportunity to experience Johnson’s thoughtful exploration of these themes firsthand, as well as purchase original works that speak to the universal experiences of connection, belief, and belonging.
